Elizabeth Phillips, soprano

Elizabeth Phillips’ versatile repertoire ranges from early music to contemporary opera and avant garde. In addition to being an accomplished recitalist, she has also been a featured soloist for orchestras throughout the United States.  Her eclectic style has led to collaborations with Julianne Baird, Malcolm Bilson, Steve Reich and Bobby McFerrin and is also evident in her work with the acclaimed avant cappella trio, F'loom (www.floom.com), which performs and teaches throughout the U.S., Canada, and in Europe. Ms. Phillips holds adjunct faculty positions at Nazareth College and Rochester Institute of Technology and has a thriving private studio in which she teaches speech and voice.  She offers classes and workshops in vocal performance and dramatic presentation and adjudicates the Proctors Theatre A Cappella Festival in Schenectady, NY, where she also co-curates The Dangerous Music Series. Ms. Phillips is a graduate of the Eastman School of Music and was awarded their prestigious Performer’s Certificate in Voice. She resides in Western New York with her husband, her daughters, a three-legged cat and an enormous dog.
